Rainbow Honey Haul & Swatches
I finally bought some indie nail polish from rainbowhoney! I originally wanted one of the duos months ago but my order had to be cancelled because it was out of stock at the time. Today, I’m showing two duos: “20% Cooler + The Element of Magic” and “Pinkie Promise + The Worst Possible Thing” .
The packaging is very nice. I like that it has a clean look but the bold coloring of what’s supposed to be the nail polish color draws attention. I like the labeling too. One thing I was a little disappointed with though, was that the color on the outside packaging didn’t quite match what the nail polish looked like in real life. Afterall, it was the outside packaging that drew me in the first place. BUT these colors are still beautiful.
First up, Pinkie Promise(top left). It’s a light pink polish with a slight gold shimmer when in the light. It has multicolored hex and tinsel glitter and it looks like a party on your nails! Seriously, I could not stop staring at my nails during class. The formula is a little bit thick but it helps with the application. Opaque in two coats.
Element of Magic (top right) is a slightly more sheer polish. It has a bit of iridescence to it and it has quite a few shades of glitter. Truthfully, I would have liked it to be a little more opaque but I was able to get full coverage in three coats. I layered it over a blue polish (pointer finger) and a iridescent purple (ring finger). Personally, my favorite way to wear this was over the purple polish,
20% Cooler (lower left) is a sheer, light blue polish with tons of rainbow colored glitter. It looked beautiful in the packaging but I was a little sad that it wasn’t an opaque shade. It really is just my personal preference though, I just am not a big fan of sheer polishes. I was able to get full coverage in 4 coats. I also layered it over the same blue polish (middle and pinkie fingers) that I used under Element of Magic.
Last but not least, The Worst Possible Thing (lower right), which was the whole reason for ordering in the first place. It looked SO gorgeous on the packaging and I absolutely had to have it. It’s like a glitter topper with a sheer base. It’s full of different types of blues and purples, mostly pastels, which is why I love it so much. I decided to make a manicure out of this one because I loved it so much. I tried it under black and white but I personally think you can see the glitter better when it’s over black. I also tried to see how many layers it took to get it opaque on my thumb nail. I had to try—the color was just so beautiful! I was able to get it opaque at 6 layers. A lot, I know, but it was really worth it. This is hands down one of my favorite polishes I own. Definitely not the worst possible thing ;)
